Welcome to A Healthy State

Welcome to a Healthy State!

Ever since I've changed my habits from bad to good, I have been motivated to help people learn how to be healthy. Don't gt me wrong though, I still have some vices, but moderation is key! This is the reason for my Blog. It makes me happy to be able to share all of the great info I've found in my own quest to be healthy, like nutrition facts, exercise tips, links to great articles, and a link to an ingenious (and free!) website that makes it effortless to plan delicious, 'good for you' meals. (I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but healthy food CAN taste good!)

It would excite me even more to know that I played a part in leading you to YOUR healthy state.

One of my favorite quotes...

Put It On The Menu

I had this awesome idea to design a web site where you could pick healthy recipes to create a
weekly menu, and then program it to generate a shopping list. Wouldn't that make it a lot easier
to eat healthier? Well, I have to thank the people that beat me to the punch! The site is called...

Meals Matter is a non-commercial website developed and supported by the
Dairy Council of California, a not-for-profit organization funded by California
dairy processors and producers. It's a free site and because they fund it, there
is no advertising. YEAH! How great is that? It was developed to teach healthful
eating habits that lead to making healthy food choices.

It took me a little while to navigate the site, but it's worth the initial time spent. You pick out
recipes, or you can add your own like I did, add them to your calendar, and then convert it to
a list. It's just like I imagined! I don't have to ask the dreaded "What's for dinner?" question any
longer - I just LOVE it!

When we make a meal at home that turns out exceptionally tasty, we always say
"This is so good, I think we'll put it on the Menu", so once I found the Meals Matter
website, that's exactly what I did - I created a cookbook called Add It To The Menu
and added my recipes - most of them are almost to simple to call a recipe, but that just supports
the fact that being healthy doesn't have to be difficult. If you have some simple but healthy recipes,
I would love to try them! Click here to share your creations.
